Agassiz Speedway Results and Upcoming Race @ Motoplex

I definitely impressed myself when we raced at Agassiz last weekend, it was another new track that I would have to learn in two 30 minute practice sessions. I spent the last scuff session just watching some of the faster cars lines and then walked the track again to get a feel for some marks. I would be the first car to qualify because I chose to skip the scuff session. I spent the 25 minutes before qualifying just sitting in the race car and visualizing the line I needed to run.
My qualifying lap time was half a second quicker than my practice times which landed us 7th within 2 tenths of the track record. I started at the back of the main event which turned out to be a detriment to our run, being a small race track and getting caught behind a few rows of slower traffic I ended up getting lapped early. Fortunately I was able to follow the leaders through and make my way up to 7th in the main event.
It was all in all a great run considering the other issues we battled throughout the race, I lost the clutch on lap 25 so keeping the car running under cautions was extremely difficult. Also a late race contact knocked the toe out but we pushed through and brought the car home in one piece in 7th.
This coming weekend we will also face some diversity as I am recovering from a neck injury I obtained at work. Hopefully I will be able to compete to my fullest this weekend as I feel we have a great shot at the win.

See you this weekend at Motoplex Speedway, Vernon, BC
